The Wiseman's Revolt

Once upon a time in a faraway land there was a Chinese wiseman and his disciple. One day, during his travels, he saw a hut in the distance.

As they approached, they noticed that the house was being lived in even though it was extremely run down.

In that desolate land with no trees and no crops, a man lived with his wife, three young children and an emaciated, tired looking cow.

Hungry and thirsty, the wiseman and his disciple asked to be allowed to rest for a few hours and were well received.

At one point, while he was eating, the wiseman asked:

- This is a very poor land, faraway from everything. How do you survive?

- Do you see that cow? It’s our livelihood, said the head of the family. We drink the milk she gives and also make cheese from it. When there are leftovers, we go to town and exchange the milk and cheese for other foods. This is how we live.

The wiseman thanked them for their hospitality and left. As soon as they had turned the first bend in the road, he said to the disciple:

- Go back, take the cow, lead it over to the cliff over there and push it off.

The disciple could not believe what he was hearing.

- I cannot do that, master! How can you be so ungrateful? The cow is all they have. If I throw it off the cliff, they won’t survive. Without the cow they die!

The man, as all Chinese wisemen do, just took a deep breath and repeated the order:

- Go over there and push the cow over the cliff.

Outraged, but resigned, the disciple returned to the hut and quietly led the animal to the cliff and pushed. And obviously, the cow died from the fall.

Years passed by, yet the regret of the disciple remained.

One spring day, racked with guilt, he abandoned the wise old man and decided to return to that same spot. He wanted to see what had happened to the family, help them, apologize and somehow make amends.

As he came around the turn in the road, could not believe what his eyes saw. In place of the run down hut there was a wonderful house with many trees, a swimming pool, an imported car in the garage, and satellite dish.

Around the barbecue were three robust teenagers along with their parents celebrating the victory of making their first million dollars. The disciple's heart sank.

What happened to the family?

Hunger must have forced them to sell their land and leave. At that very moment, he thought, they must be begging on some city street corner.

He then approached a household servant and asked if he knew the whereabouts of the family that had lived there several years ago.

- Of course I do. You're looking at them - the servant said, pointing to the people around the barbecue.

Amazed, the disciple pushed open the gate and came near to the pool where he recognized the same man as before, only stronger and dignified, a happier woman and children who had turned into healthy adolescents. Startled, he turned to the man and said:

- What happened? I've visited this place with my teacher a few years ago, and this was a miserable place. There was nothing. What did you do to improve your lives in such a short period of time?

The man looked at the disciple, smiled and replied:

- We had a cow that was our livelihood. It was everything we had.

But one day she fell over the cliff and died. To survive, we had to do other things and develop skills that we did not even know we had.

And so, in our search for new ways to survive, we are today much better off than we were before.

ChainofPrayer

Whatisit?

Chain of Prayer

A Chain of Prayer is when you attend a prayer meeting for a certain number of weeks without interruption in order to see a breakthrough in your life. Whether it is healing, a financial breakthrough or spiritual deliverance that you need, a Chain of Prayer helps you develop the faith and determination to overcome. Before starting a Chain you will need to decide what you want to fight for, and then decide the day, or days, that you will make your chain. A requirement to making a Chain of Prayer is that you attend a Sunday service every week.

Learningtoreleaseyourfaith

When a person makes a Chain of mPrayer, their faith is encouraged, awakened and prepared to take possession of God’s promises. But due to the seriousness of their problems, some are so overwhelmed and worried that that they find it hard to use their faith in the first prayer meeting they attend. Though it does happen, only a few receive what they want on their very first visit. One prayer is not enough. Even Jesus taught us to pray always and never give up (Luke 18.1).

Important

Before you start a Chain of Prayer, you should get your pastor’s advice. He will teach you, step by step, how to use your faith to overcome your problems. If you are attacked with doubt or confusion, or if your faith gets weak, do not hesitate to ask for help. Don’t be shy. One word of advice can prove to be invaluable, even more than a prayer. Just like a doctor gives you a series of treatments and monitors your progress until you are completely healed, our aim is to help you through your problems until you are strong enough to use your own faith and no longer need to depend on a pastor’s prayers. The essence of a Chain of Prayer is to teach you to be independent, to depend on yourself and God alone!

Perseverance

The success of a Chain of Prayer depends on your perseverance. If you’re not determined, it won’t work. When you begin a Chain, you are picking a fight with the root of your problems, and negative forces can try to stop you from completing the Chain, but no matter what happens, DO NOT BREAK IT! Be serious about this. It would better not to start a Chain than to start and not finish.
It’s up to you!
A Chain of Prayer is a biblical strategy for conquering blessings: God delivered His people from the Egyptians with 10 plagues; He told Joshua to march around Jericho 13 times; the prophet Elijah prayed for rain 7 different times. It works! It has worked for thousands of people just like you and it could also work for you. No matter how big your problem is, a Chain of Prayer will help you overcome. In fact, being faithful to a Chain of Prayer is proof of your faith to God. It’s time to declare war against your problems. Have you had ENOUGH of suffering? If so, start your Chain of Prayer at your nearest UCKG HelpCentre this week!

Take a look at our schedule of services and read the brief description for each day.

I Mocked God

In 2011:

I laughed, drank, grew, evolved, deluded myself, enjoyed myself, learned, went out, had fun, but I did not die...

I cried, kissed, dreamed, made mistakes, had a good time, I made it...

I fought, fell in love, changed, danced, enjoyed life, I remembered and was remembered, I met new friends and, finally, I LIVED!

In spite of that, I'm not dead...

The Fast Of Daniel-Day Twenty One

God’s timing

When we submit to the discipline of the Kingdom of God, everything that happens works out for our own good. Do you know why?

Because the Almighty is in perfect control of everything in His Kingdom. Do you believe this?

One of the most serious problems for the people of God, is their love life.

But let’s look at how our Lord and King goes about solving this problem:

When a subject, servant, priest and child loves Him with all his heart and with all his soul, with all his strength and with all his understanding, God in turn sends him a special gift that satisfies the desires of His child: a wife/husband.

As it is written, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD.” Proverbs 18.22

That being the case, a cross is formed: the vertical pole (you and God) + the horizontal bar (you and the one you love).

At times it may seem that it’s taking a little too long. But that does not mean there’s a delay. In fact, He is preparing the right person for you, or preparing you for someone who is already ready.

If this describes your situation, don’t be uneasy, worried or anxious—those who believe do not give up, are not in a hurry and do not run away.

On the other hand, it is also written that the time for the promise to be fulfilled is approaching, and will not fail. “If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”Habakkuk 2.3 NLT

This word applies to the promises of God, but only for those who believe. Do you believe?

What tactics has the devil used against God’s elect? He knows our needs, especially when it comes to our love lives, and so he has used his children to create anxiety in the hearts of God’s elect.

When are you getting married? Do you have a boyfriend? Be careful, or you’ll end up gathering dust on the shelf, etc. In so doing, the devil is able to weaken the faith of some believers. A second attack would be to cast doubt on the promises of God. And so on…

If believers do not take along the extra oil, their lamps might go out and they will be left in the dark.

Do not be deceived! Do you really think that our Lord will fail us? Do you think He lacks the power to take care of us? Shouldn’t He be able to meet the needs of the subjects of His kingdom? Only a fool would doubt this!

Work at pleasing Him, and He will fulfil the desires of your new heart.

Stand firm and keep the faith, because God’s timing is never late, and never early. Everything happens at exactly the right time.

When you least expect it, you’ll receive the answer.

Be blessed in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and may your dreams come true in the time of Your Father.

Do you believe?

Well then, let’s extend the Fast of Daniel—another 21 days, the first of 2012.

The Fast Of Daniel-Day Twenty

Snowball Effect

Two kingdoms, two territories, two masters…
The Kingdom of Light vs. the kingdom of darkness;
The land of Good vs. the land of evil;
The Lord God—Father of His children vs. the lord and father of the children of the world.

Who is the master of your life? What kingdom do you belong to?

Your dreams might not have been realized yet, but if you belong to the Kingdom of God you will find shelter beneath His protection. Nothing can happen to you without the permission of the Almighty.

And if by chance something that seems bad should happen to you, down the road you will understand how it was for your own good.

"A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you."Psalm 91.7

Having said that, those who leave the Kingdom of Light no longer have this protection. This means they automatically enter the kingdom of darkness. From then on, any choices they make, even if they seem right, will still be wrong and will have serious consequences in the end—suffering, pain and worst of all, eternal death.

Jesus said, "I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness..."John 8:12

This means: those who do not follow Me, walk in darkness.

What kind of protection is there for those who walk in darkness?

Many ruin their lives by choosing to marry the wrong person. They eventually get divorced and marry someone else. Later on, they get divorced again and marry another person. In their frantic pursuit of happiness, they keep trading spouses but are never able to stick with anyone—a vicious cycle from hell.

Worst of all, while drifting down this path children are being brought into the world. What future will these children have? They have one father today, another one tomorrow, and the day after, still another...

These little ones will inherit this curse and pass it on to other generations—a snowball effect.

When the spirit does not think, the body and soul will reap the fruits of hell.
