A Deadly Couple

At first glance, they seemed like a couple with lots of faith.

Especially, since they were an eyewitness of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit over the early church.

But by this time, faith and emotions were already walking hand-in-hand.

As proof of that, when they saw their friend Barnabas sell his possessions and deposit the money at the apostles' feet, they also felt motivated to sell a property and put it to good use at the service of the Kingdom of God.

However, after seeing the amounts of money that was being collected, Ananias agreed with his wife to keep back part of the proceeds and only bring a certain quantity to be laid at the apostles' feet.

There are many couples out there who share this same kind of faith, just like they did.

A faith that is divided between the Lord and money.

Conclusion: they end up losing their money and, worse of all, their life.

VVV Conference-Invest in What?

It’s a nagging little question for those who have already figured out what they want:
"We want to get ahead in the workplace, enter a new line of work and we’re not willing to give up on that dream. We’re going to be our own boss and we’re no longer going to work hard to make other people rich”.

This is when a fierce battle begins.

What should I invest in?

Gastronomy? Cutting-edge technology? Construction? Arts and crafts? Education?

Oh, my God! What should I do with my life? Where should I begin?

Some people become desperate during their search for the right job investment, they become indecisive. They don’t progress or digress; they get stuck and end up throwing away their dreams. They leave the job market the same way they came in: with drama, a dream and empty handed.

The outcome of this problem: give up on your goals, abandon your dreams, become someone else’s slave again and die without ever experiencing the best things in life, leaving behind as an inheritance an endless list of failures and debts.

But this can all come to an end, as soon as you realize that you are your biggest investment. You’re never going to find a more valuable asset other than yourself.

When and how can you make this happen?

When you put the need to have an encounter with God and receive the Holy Spirit, above any skill, knowledge or training. Take a look at what is written below:

Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 1 Samuel 10:6

So, invest correctly: INVEST IN YOURSELF!

Falling in the "Spirit"

Hello, Bishop!

Given the amount of questions and comments we’ve received regarding a "doctrine", where people fall down after receiving the ‘touch of power’ of the Holy Spirit, I'd like to share something that happened in our Church in Australia. I think this will clear up a lot of doubts, especially to those who use their logic.

There is an Australian law that requires private institutions where people congregate to have an insurance policy. This insurance is renewed annually and is called ‘Public Liability Insurance’.

It covers the compensation for personal injuries suffered on site, such as: fingers caught in doors, slip and falls, personal injury or property damage, etc. This law also requires churches to have this insurance.

So far, so good; no problem. It is with great pleasure that we obey the law, and therefore, we have our insurance policy.

However, there is a twist. The broker from our insurance agency, which happens to be one of the largest in Australia, insisted on asking if our church encouraged people to "fall in the spirit", which here, they call "slain in the spirit”.
He pointed to a question on the insurance form, which we had to fill in with our information, that asked if we practiced the act of "falling in spirit” and we had to mark an "x" in the "yes" or "no” box.

I found this question odd, but before I could have answered him saying that we didn’t, he quickly explained that there is a different kind of insurance for churches that practice this doctrine.
I, of course, was a bit curious how an insurance agency, that has no religious ties, seemed to have an understanding of the term "slain in the spirit" and wanted to question us about it.

That's when he further explained that there are many "believers" who practice this doctrine and end up with broken arms, legs, scars and head injuries because they “fall in the spirit" over chairs and people during the service. When they don’t hurt themselves, they fall on top of other people hurting them instead.
He went so far as to say, that there are legal battles over personal injuries caused by people while they were "falling in the spirit."
He asked me if I believed in this. Without wanting to dive deep into this religious matter, I simply said, “No. Because I couldn’t stand seeing my wife washing and ironing my clothes, with so much love and sacrifice, and then put it all to waste by rolling around on the floor, getting dirty and ruining everything she had done”.
After a few laughs, we signed the policy.

Now, this disgraceful example is brought upon the unwary because they haven’t received the true baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit does not hurt people, He heals wounds!

The Holy Spirit does not throw us to the ground, He lifts us up!

The Holy Spirit does not teach us about religion, He teaches the truth and nothing but the truth!

The Holy Spirit does not cause confusion, He restores and comforts.

God bless you.

Sincerely,
Marcelo Cardoso

Thrown Out

My husband left me, what should I do?
My son is an addict and he hits me, what should I do?
My boyfriend broke up with me, what should I do?
I get bombarded with bad thoughts, how can I resist them?
I'm lost, please guide me.
I used to be an assistant, I need help.

Many people have been leaving all kinds of questions concerning different problems on this blog.
Some questions are about love, family matters, finances, health; while others are regarding
doubts, fears, anxieties, addictions, etc.

Everyone eagerly awaits the solution to their personal problems. But few, very few, are concerned with the final destination of their soul.

It’s as though their earthly life was eternal and the solution to their circumstantial problems are more important. What lack of vision.

Those who lack vision and spiritual understanding believe that in the end, everyone will go to heaven. They believe that our Heavenly Father is all about love and mercy; He won’t punish anyone.

But someone asked Him:

Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?

His answer was very clear:

Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. Luke 13.23-28

And where will your soul spend eternity?

Salvation During the Campaign of Israel

Hello, Bishop!

I would like to share something with you that happened with a Congolese family during the Campaign of Israel.

A church member, here in England, told us how she had lost her sister and a close friend in a plane crash that happened on July 8th in the Republic of Congo.

Although, there were obvious feelings of sadness and loss for her loved ones, there was also the joy of knowing that her two other sisters were among the 51 people who survived the crash, which claimed the lives of more than 70 people.

That's right! They were on the same flight and survived with minor injuries.

The two surviving sisters boarded the plane in Paris and were bound for Kinshasa. There, they were to meet up with the other two and board another plane that would take them to their hometown.

The weather was terrible, it was raining heavily. The aircraft belonged to a company that had been prohibited from flying over European airspace due to the precarious state of their aircrafts. The plane crashed near the airport and immediately burst into flames.

The interesting part about all this is that one of the surviving sisters is a faithful member of the Universal Church in France. The other sister regularly attends church meetings and both were faithfully participating in the Campaign of Israel. Unfortunately, the sister that died was of another faith.

"For he will command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways." Psalms 91.11

21st August-Day twenty one-The Fast Of Daniel

Why haven’t I already receive the Holy Spirit? Because you have not yet surrendered 100%.

Or do you think the Faithful Judge is being unfaithful to you? He promised:

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive…“
John 14.16-17

He has already prayed for you and guaranteed that the Father would give Him. So what’s missing for This Promise to be fulfilled in your life?

Could it be your marriage to the world?
But you already divorced the world and married Jesus.
Isn’t that right?

Therefore you have rights through your faith in the Lord.

Throw all your strength into seeking and take hold of your rights through the promises of your Lord.

Would God the Father deny a request of God the Son?
I doubt it.

This Sunday, come prepared to receive the Seal of God, undeserving as you are! Be ready for an unconditional surrender of body, soul and spirit.

20th August-Day Twenty-The Fast Of Daniel

The Secret of My Salvation

I always fear and tremble for my salvation because the Holy Spirit has convinced me of this… For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

This word has given birth to a fear without precedent within me.

Together with the prophecy of Ezekiel, the Holy Spirit continually reminds me of my greatest possession:

“…The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; nor shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.

When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die.

Again, when I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered against him; he has done what is lawful and right; he shall surely live.” Ezekiel 33.12-16

IF YOU THINK YOUR SALVATION IS GUARANTEED, THIS TEXT MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THAT IT IS NOT!
