Your job or God

One day, the CEO of a company called one of his Christian employees into his office.

He cut to the chase and got straight down to business:

- We are restructuring the company and we’re looking for someone with your skills to fill a management position. We evaluated your file and there is just one problem: your religion. This position is absolutely incompatible with your beliefs, so you'll have to make a choice between this job promotion and your church. You don’t need to give me an answer right now. Today is Friday; go home, think about it and on Monday, you can let me know what you’ve decided.

The man went home overcome with doubts. On one hand, he looked forward to this new job - after all, it was the chance of a lifetime. How many people wouldn’t wish they could trade places with him? On the other hand, he had his faith, the church and God!

All kinds of thoughts rushed through his head. His heart turned into a battlefield; it was a war between right and wrong, between the real and the ideal. He had sleepless nights, unable to focus his thoughts on anything. It was the worst weekend of his life; the worst Saturday, the worst Sunday...

There he was, bright and early Monday morning, eager to meet with the CEO:

- Well? – He asked – What is your decision?

- I think I'm going to accept your offer.

The CEO didn’t even raise his head:

- Therefore you can head straight down to the Human Resources Department and take care of your paperwork. You're fired!

- But ... Sir ... You’re the one who made me the offer!

- Yes, I was testing you, but you failed. If you were so quick to turn your back on your God, what guarantees me that you won’t turn your back on this company even faster?

"... But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God." Luke 12:09

This story reflects the nature of those who haven’t been born of God.

Greetings to my family and companions of war.
